Artem Yasynsky was born in 1988 in Donetsk, Ukraine into a family of professional musicians. At the age of seven he became a pupil of Albina Oryshuk at the Special School for Gifted Children in Donetsk. He gave his first public concert at the age of eight and, still a child, performed as concerto soloist with orchestras such as the Donetsk State Orchestra Ukraine and the Ukrainian National Orchestra.

Numerous competition successes during this period included prizes at the International Piano Competition of Prokofiev’s Native Land (Donetsk 1999, 2003), the Horowitz Debut Competition (2001, Kiev), the Vladimir Krainev Competition (Charkov 2005) and the Horowitz International Piano Competition for Young Pianists (2001 and 2007, Kiev). 

A scholarship granted by the President of the Ukraine from 2006 to 2010 enabled him to study at the Prokofiev State Academy of Music, where he also took composition classes with Professor Aleksander Rudyansky, graduating in 2010 with Honours. 

In 2010, he moved to Germany in order to continue postgraduate piano studies at the University of the Arts in Bremen with Patrick O’Byrne. During his studies, he was supported by the Steinway-Förderpreis in Hamburg, by a scholarship of Hans und Stefan Berbeck Stiftung, by a grant from Carl-Heinz Illies-Förderstipendium and by Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. 

In October 2011, he was awarded third price at Gian Battista Viotti , Vercelli (Italy) ; in June 2013 he won the Bronze Medal and the Audience Prize at the Sendai International Music Competition. Shortly thereafter, at the First German Piano Competition of Polish Music held in Hamburg in July 2013, he won the Hofmann Prize (a CD recording of works by Joseph Hofmann for the Naxos Grand Piano Label) as well as a concert tour of Poland, during which he performed as soloist with the Koszalin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Numerous concert appearances have taken him throughout Germany and to Italy, South Korea, Greece, Japan, Spain and Russia. He has also been a recent participant in master classes held by Dmitri Bashkirov and Paul Badura-Skoda, and has appeared as guest performer at international festivals such as the Donetsk Piano Forum Festival, the Kiev Musical Summernights Festival, the Slavic Culture Days and the Maggio Piano Festival (2012). In April 2013 he performed as a soloist with the Donetsk State Orchestra at the Opening Ceremony of the Prokofiev International Piano Competition in Donetsk.

In June 2014 he won the Bronze Medal at the Gina Bachauer Artist Piano Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah and was granted with the Gerd Bucerius-Stipendium  of "Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben". One year later he won the the Gold Medal and Audience Prize at  Cincinnati World Piano Competition (Ohio, USA), and he was one of three Finalists of the Honens Piano Competiton in Calgary, Canada, in September 2015. His CD with works by Joseph Hofmann on Naxos Grand Piano Label was released in May 2015.
