The approval of specialized critics and the audience’s response confirm Jorge Nava as one of the most promising Spanish pianists.

 

Born in Santander, started his musical education with Irina Efanova at the National Conservatory of Music in Bolivia. He received his bachelor degree at the Liceu Conservatory as a student of Stanislav Pochekin. Currently he is studying a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of Dmitri Alexeev as a RCM Award Holder supported by a Kenneth and Violet Scott Award.

 

He also received financial support from the Botin Foundation and Asociacion de Interpretes y Ejecutantes.

 

He participated in Master classes with great pianist including, Boris Berman, Nino Kereselidze, Mikhail Voskresensky, Lang Lang, Natalia Trull, Alexei Volodin, Jacques Rouvier.

 

Jorge has been awarded numerous prizes internationally, including Intercentros Melomano Competition, Marisa Montiel Piano Competition, Infanta Cristina Piano Competition, Jeunesses Musicals Piano Competition, Ibiza International Piano Competition, Murrhardt Klavier Competition, Mario Estenssoro Piano Competition, RCM Beethoven Competition, among others.

 

As a soloist he has worked with orchestras such as Bolivian National Symphonic Orchestra, Liceu Conservatory Orchestra, RTVE Symphonic Orchestra, Elche Symphonic Orchestra, Madrid Philharmonia, and Medellin Philharmonic.

 

He appeared in concert in major venues as Palau de la Musica Catalana, Auditorio Nacional de Musica, Teatros del Canal, Metropol Teather, Amaryllis Fleming Hall, and in both Europe and South America in cities as La Paz, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Viña del Mar, Santander, Malaga, Cordoba, Segovia, Tarragona, Madrid, Montmorillon, Saint-Germain, Hamburg, Murrhardt and London.

 

He has participated in festivals such as International Santander Festival, Segovia Festival, Spanish Music Cadiz Festival, Otoño Musical Soriano, Felix Mendelssohn Festival, Festival de Saint Savin and the Festival des Lumieres.

 

As a chamber musician he is a founding member of the Anfaegtelse Quintet and the Bruckner Trio. Currently he is working with Spanish violinist Asia J. Anton de Vez.

 

His performances as soloist have been broadcast across Spain by RNE, Catalunya Musica, TVE and TV3.
